MOSAIC WORKSHOP AT MID WALES ARTS CENTRE

Mosaic workshop at Mid Wales Arts Centre, May 22 2024

It was a really enjoyable day with a lovely small group of students really focused and engaged in creating a tile with their own mosaic design.  They worked with mixed media using ceramic and glass mosaic tiles, china and pottery, glass and beads.  It was encouraging to see them trying out a new way of working creatively.

There are further workshops on Saturday 22 June and 20 July, 10am - 4pm.

June 22 will be working on a curved surface.  Small terracotta flowerpots will be available for you to create an image in a day.  Please bring your own pot if you prefer. July 20 will focus on working on a flat surface to produce a small tile. The MDF board will be supplied. These workshops stand alone if you only wish to do one.

For both workshops there will be mosaic tiles, ceramics, glass and beads available but please bring along any cherished or chipped china, beads, jewellery, stones or shells that you wish to include in your design and learn how to safely create a new work of art.  Bring a design if you wish or there will be ideas on a garden theme available if you would like guidance.

Can be used as a coaster (has cork pads on the reverse) or as a small wall decoration (also fitted with a D-ring to hang on the wall - can be easily removed if it is to be used as a coaster)
