Work in progress in the studio

It’s been a joy to get into my new studio in Wales and to be working on a mosaic after such a long gap working on mosaics in preparation for the big move.

I have had this idea in my mind for a long time. It’s called Pond Life – for now anyway. It won’t be clear until I grout it that this includes images of frogs, dragonflies, irises, reeds and water lilies. I’m working within an old ceramic platter which I bought from a charity shop. You may like to have a look at Oriental Gold Fish Bowl in the Mosaics Gallery to see one that I completed a little while ago.

I like recycling things and giving them a different purpose and I hope these two pieces will bring joy to whoever decides to own them.
