Tuscan Sunflower Urn

£445.00

This piece won the Highly Commended 3D Piece in October 2016 at the Faringdon Art Society Annual Exhibition.

This beautiful, bold sunflower image has been mosaiced onto an old up-cycled terracotta urn using glass, mosaic tiles and pieces gathered from charity shops including china, ceramics and beads.

The mosaic tesserai are cemented onto the terracotta urn to ensure a long life. Some of the pot is left un-mosaiced in order to incorporate into the design the interesting old patina of the urn. This piece was inspired by the fields of sunflowers in West Oxfordshire.

It is suitable for indoor or outdoor use. If you position it outside, it is recommended that you bring it indoors in the winter months as terracotta does erode over time if left outside in cold temperatures.

Size: 21.5” high

Currently being exhibited at the Mid Wales Arts Centre if you would like to see it in person. The MWAC is in Caersws, near Newtown, Mid Wales, Powys, SY17 5SB
